Help me grow a Virtual Garden to help Gardens for Health fight chronic childhood malnutrition in Rwanda!
In Rwanda, an astounding 44% of children are malnourished. Gardens for Health is determined to change that and I am determined to help them. GHI aims to empower women to feed their own families with dignity by equipping mothers with the tools and know-how to grow their own vegetable garden and lead healthy, nutritious lives. By raising just $250, I will be able to grow my own Virtual Garden to help a mother in Rwanda grow a real one–providing all the seeds and training she needs–so she has the ability to feed her children.
Please donate to help me help Gardens for Health empower mothers to end chronic childhood malnutrition!
Just back from visiting Gardens For Health in Rwanda (sent March 14)
In Rwanda, a country where 85% of the population are farmers, 44% of children under five suffer from chronic malnutrition. This incredible disconnect between agricultural production and healthy outcomes for disadvantaged children is addressed by the work of Gardens for Health. GHI steps in where international food aid leaves off by providing mothers health and nutrition education combined with the seeds and agricultural training to grow their own vegetables in their yards. The model empowers women to provide for healthy vegetables and healthy outcomes for their children and breaks the cycle of chronic malnutrition. If you are a mother, or perhaps a farmer, or just an engaged, thoughtful individual, I would ask you to join me in supporting this important work with a modest donation. Thanks, Archie

Give a home garden to a family in Gasobo District, Rwanda
In Rwanda’s Gasabo District, one in three agricultural households is food insecure, meaning that they do not have access to sufficient, safe, and nutritious food for an active and healthy life.
Gardens for Health International, a SeeYourImpact Partner, targets families who are struggling with malnutrition and equips them with the resources and knowledge they need for greater self-sufficiency. Malnutrition need not be a chronic condition, even for those facing poverty and disease.
A gift of $250 provides a family of five with a nutritionally rich home garden, regular visits from a skilled agronomist, and three months of educational workshops, including weekly cooking demonstrations.
Gardens for Health believes malnutrition need not be a chronic condition
Gardens for Health provides lasting agricultural solutions to the problem of chronic childhood malnutrition. We partner with rural health clinics to equip families facing malnutrition with seeds, livestock, and know-how for greater self-sufficiency.
