Dear Friend:

As you may know, I am pretty passionate about helping others through the pain and struggle of infertility. Infertility has touched my life and I imagine many of you have encountered someone with this disease as it inflicts 1 in 6 couples. My empathy and desire to help others has lead me to participate as a Board of Director for the past year of a nonprofit organization, Fertility Within Reach. My passion is to help people gain access to the health care benefits needed to treat their condition. This is why I am involved with Fertility Within Reach, a 501(c) 3 non-profit that helps couples advocate for themselves and successfully negotiate with doctors, insurance companies, employers to get the support they need. This organization is doing amazing things for thousands of couples across the U.S. and we need your help.

I often wonder how different my personal family dynamic would be today IF we would have had access to infertility treatment sooner. I also often wonder IF we would have had insurance coverage for IVF treatment after Jake was born, might he be a big brother today??? Don’t get me wrong, I feel like the luckiest woman in the world to have been blessed with such an amazing little boy, and am grateful to be an IVF success story. However, in addition to being blessed with Jake, Rob and I have also endured tremendous pain & heartache throughout our 13 year long infertility journey. I don’t wish that kind of pain on anyone and hope that someday no one ever will!

One of my greatest hopes in life is that someday very soon the entire country will come together and fight for the fact that Infertility IS a REAL medical condition and that it WILL become a covered benefit to diagnose and treat on EVERY insurance plan with every insurance company in EVERY state!!! In 2003, dispite all the odds, Rob & I managed to have a successful IVF cycle that resulted in our precious little miracle baby! Our own doctors didn’t even think this would be possible! So if that dream of mine could become a reality then so can this one!!!! Wouldn’t it be wonderful if our children never have to endure the tremendous heartache of dealing with infertility as a non-covered benefit on their insurance plans??? …IT IS POSSIBLE WITH YOUR HELP & SUPPORT!
