Every book I read helps educate a child in India
Dear Friends,
Amrita is participating in Pratham USA Readathon 2016. Pratham is a not-for-profit organization that is educating millions of kids in India since it was founded in 1995. It is very well known and has won many international awards for its work in child literacy and education. Pratham USA raises funds and awareness in the US for this important cause. In Amrita’s own words — “I want other kids in India to learn how to read because I want those kids to get more smarter. I feel bad that other kids can’t read. I want to do the reading challenge so that I can also get more smarter. I like to read chapter books and some of my favorite books are Peppa Pig Ballet Lesson, Duck and Goose, My Little Pony Hooray for Spring, Harry and the Lady Next Door, and Scat Cat. I want to try to read 20 or more books for the challenge.
I also want to help other kids so they know how to read and get smarter. So when they go to school they can get the best grade. If you could donate $1-$2 for each book I read, that would help a lot.”
Thank you,
Amrita
