Every book I read helps educate a child in India
Dear Friends,
I am participating in Pratham USA Readathon 2016 because I want to help less fortunate children attend Pratham schools and learn to read, write and count well. Pratham is a not-for-profit organization that is educating millions of kids in India since it was founded in 1995. It is very well known and has won many international awards for its work in child literacy and education. Pratham USA raises funds and awareness in the US for this important cause. Please visit www.prathamusa.org for more information. Pratham needs only $25 to educate one child for one whole year.
I love India as a country and honestly speaking I want India to prosper. My dream as an Indian is to help India become more of a developed country. A good way I can take part in this is to give education to our future. I wish to become a successful business man and soon help India’s economy rise. I love India. I truly do and I respect India. I have pride in being Indian. Us as american citizens should help our home country. We are extremely fortunate to be in America, therefore we should help the unfortunate. Our country cares for us and we should to. I hope you may donate to help our country and our world as a whole become a better place.
Dasvandh – a tenth of our earnings is given to the less fortunate
What is the secret of the tenth part? Guru Gobind Singh, the Tenth Master, told his Sikhs one-tenth of the earnings they received did not belong to them but belonged to God. When we give it back to Him, then all of the wealth and prosperity which is ours is revealed to us and is bestowed upon us. https://www.allaboutsikhs.com/sikh-principles/dasvandh
In research conducted by the National Institutes of Health2, participants who chose to donate a portion of $100 they were provided enjoyed activated pleasure centers in the brain. Although this experiment was controlled and scientific, it did show that donating money simply makes you feel better, which is something we can all benefit from. https://www.thelifeyoucansave.org/Blog/ID/200/9-Positive-Effects-of-Donating-Money-to-Charity
Hope we can make a change and help our brothers and sisters back home. Thank you for making a change to our community and keep singing “I love my India” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xBsRFjAkn8s
Love,
Kerisma
