Every book I read helps educate a child in India
Dear Friends,
I am very excited to be a part of the readathon and work so closely with Pratham! Pratham is a nonprofit organization that strives to break the cycle of illiteracy and poverty in rural India. Pratham was founded in 1995, and is recognized all over the United States. Kind donors and volunteers build schools and provide education for Indian children and teens. It only takes $25 to keep a child in school for a year, these children are then taught to read, write, and count. Please visit www.prathamusa.org for more information!
I really love the concept of reading to raise money, because it simultaneously raises awareness. I think we take the pleasure of reading for granted, we are so lucky to be educated enough to read for our own personal enjoyment! Hopefully, through the readathon we can give other children the joy of reading. Please support my Readathon by making a donation to Pratham USA today! Thank you!
Love,
Riva Akolawala
