What is the Sponsor Iraqi Children Foundation’s In Their Shoes Campaign?
It is a 5k Fun Run/Walk on May 4, 2013, to raise awareness and mobilize life changing support for desperately poor and vulnerable orphans and street children in Iraq.
What does $120 a month ($1,440/year) provide?
A gift of $120 a month covers all expenses for giving an orphan or street child the following loving services:
·$30 for a healthy breakfast and lunch
·$28 for tutoring, including teachers and school supplies
·$15 for social workers and home visits
·$47 for rental and maintenance of center as a safe haven, including security guard, cooking and housekeeping services, electricity, etc.
Where does my money go?
SICF works hard to keep its overhead expenses very low. In 2011, SICF business expenses came to less than 3.3% of the budget, and went to cover such operating expenses as website, tax/accounting, state registration, Paypal, and bank fees. SICF has no paid US staff. We are all volunteers. And we operate out of donated office space
How do I know my donation will make a difference?
All donors will receive a story and a photo about a life that has been changed through the work of Sponsor Iraqi Children Foundation.

Saturday's race was a big success!

Dear Friends and Family:
Yesterday’s 5K fun run/1K walk was a huge success. The beautiful weather drew a number of runners and allowed us to introduce more people to the Sponsor Iraqi Children Foundation (SICF) and its mission.
In the end, we had over 160 runners/walkers, including 4 Gold Star Mothers who walked in the memory of their children lost in the Iraq war. We also raised over $30,000, thanks in great part to your generosity. Thank you very much.
All the best,
Betsy Phillips

Thank you, again!

To all my dear friends and family:
Thank you, again, for your generous contributions to help the orphans and homeless children in Iraq. I have far exceeded my fundraising goal – thanks to all of you!
The day of the race is fast approaching and the weather man is promising a lovely day. So please keep us in your thoughts and prayers as we run a race to raise funds for the Baghdad Street Children’s Center.
While I cannot share with you all that is happening in Baghdad due to security concerns for the children, please know that life for these children and the Center is exceedingly difficult. The government has placed additional costs and restrictions on the operation of the Center, so your gift is all the more precious to them at this time.
I promise to give you a full accounting after the race is run, but please know that your gifts are very much appreciated and 100% of the funds raised will go to support the orphans and homeless children in Iraq.
All the best,
Betsy Phillips

Thank you!

To all my friends and family that have supported me in this fundraising goal for SICF – THANK YOU for helping me reach my goal!!!
To date – and we still have 10 days to go – SICF has been able to use the “In Their Shoes” 5K race to raise over $25,000 for the the Baghdad Street Children’s Center. Additionally, we have over 100 people committed to running in the race!
Thank you for all that you have done to help the vulnerable children of Iraq. You are a blessing.
