What is the Ben Towne Center for Childhood Cancer Research?
The BTCCCR’s mission is to translate scientific discoveries into innovative therapies that cure childhood cancer with minimal side effects and improve survivors’ quality of life. We are spearheading treatments that use the immune system to eliminate cancer, without chemotherapy or radiation. Our goal is to render today’s therapies obsolete until treating childhood cancer is no different than treating an everyday virus.

What exactly is the research?
The Ben Towne Center has adopted a unique approach that combines academic research with elements of a biotech firm. This approach, combined with our emphasis on collaboration, enables our investigators to carry discoveries and innovations from the research bench to the pediatric oncology clinic. Our primary area of research is immunotherapy, which activates the immune system to treat diseases.

Hi Friends and Family,

I wanted you to know that so many of you have helped me completely surpass my original goal, giving me the ultimate birthday gift – the best ever! Thank you for your generosity and together we will CRUSH KIDS CANCER!

I got a call yesterday from a private foundation who has been watching our birthday party progress. They have offered a $50 match for the first 10 gifts of $50 made today – January 25! This is it! Last call! I won’t bug you anymore! :) Next time I ask will be my next 50th! 2064!
