I teach Language Arts in a rural school in Washington State. Each day, I work with 84 students, grades 4-6 as a Gifted Ed teacher.
The technology in my classroom is outdated, slow and not suitable for the fast-paced learning style of my students. Students are unable to research or verify vital components of their daily learning goals due to a lack of essential equipment and resources.
Preparing my students for the next phase of their learning proves to be challenging when we cannot access relevant and current information and curriculum. I have been bringing my personal I pad daily for kids to use, either for research, word processing or creating evidence of mastery of learning.
I am requesting a grant to purchase current technology and resources to improve the quality and depth of instruction, and also to provide hands on opportunities for kids to master skills that will lead to success and allow students to remain competitive with other students statewide, in their age bracket.
The students in my program deserve to have access to the same high quality, current technological resources as their peers in more populous and affluent communities.
Please help me secure tools and resources for the students in my Gifted Ed program

By giving through SeeYourImpact, we know that 100% of our donations will be delivered directly to Pratham.  Best of all, we’ll get photos and stories of the children whose lives we change!

Pratham means “first” in Sanskrit, a name that reflects their place in changing education for the poorest children in India. Pratham seeks to inspire people around the world to stand up for children’s education rights, and has opened chapters in Canada, Germany, the U.K., and the U.S.
