Every book I read helps educate a child in India
Hello Friends,
My name is _Shreya Kulkarni______.
I am participating in Pratham Readathon 2013 because I want to help less fortunate children attend Pratham schools and learn to read, write and count well. Pratham is a not-for-profit organization that is educating millions of kids in India since it was founded in1994. It is very well known and has won many international awards for its work in child literacy and education. Pratham USA raises funds and awareness in the US for this cause. Please visit www.prathamusa.org for more information.
Pratham needs only $25 to educate one child for one whole year. I love to read because when I read, I can learn a lot, meet new people, discover new places, find new ideas, improve my vocabulary, use my imagination and never get bored! I am so happy that with your donation, my reading will help many other children. I am going to read _25__ books.
‘There is always happiness in giving than receiving.’
No one can deny that they were never helped in life. Everyone grows up as a result of an integrated system of help developed by the society. All of us are a better stage now in life than earlier. A lot of people helped us in reaching this stage, in different forms and relations. We could not have been here without our parents, siblings, friends, relatives, colleagues and those whom we come across face to face at different times of life, though for a short time.
Teachers, and your education are factors that help one become who they will be. An education gives you a path to your future. Imagine those that do not have that opportunity. Those young children are the ones that we, the Pratham Team, are there to help. To benefit them and to give them a future is our objective.
Please join us.
