Every book I read helps educate a child in India
Dear Friends,
I am participating in Pratham USA Readathon 2015 because I want to help less fortunate children attend Pratham schools and learn to read, write and count well. Pratham is a not-for-profit organization that is educating millions of kids in India since it was founded in 1995. It is very well known and has won many international awards for its work in child literacy and education. Pratham USA raises funds and awareness in the US for this important cause. Please visit www.prathamusa.org for more information.
Pratham needs only $25 to educate one child for one whole year. I love to read because when I read, I can learn a lot, meet new people, discover new places, find new ideas, improve my vocabulary, use my imagination and never get bored! I am so happy that with your donation, my reading will help many other children. I am going to read 10 books. Please support my Readathon by making a donation to Pratham USA today.
Love,
Shalin
Loric vs. Mogadorians (sent August 14)
For the past 6 years I have continued to read the “I Am Number Four” book series. “I Am Number Four” is a exciting science fiction series based on a war between two races called the Loric and Mogadorians. The Loric have taken refuge on Earth after their planet, Lorien, was destroyed by the Mogadorians. There are only 18 Lorics left in the universe and they are all in hiding on Earth. 9 of the Lorics on Earth are called Garde and as they get older gain legacies similar to superpowers. The other 9 Loric on Earth are called Cêpans and they are their to train and teach the Garde to use their legacies. 3 of the Garde and their Cêpans have died and it is up to the remaining 12 to unite and fight for their race. Each year a new book in the series comes out, and this year the final book is being released! I cant wait to find out how the Loric will save their race and be freed from the Mogadorians evil reign!
