My tribute to all of you.
Looking back over the past 20 years, it’s the people that stand out for me the most.
The tenants who say they’ve finally come home…for good. Who work so hard and with so much courage to turn things around, and who are successful after so many years of homelessness because of the housing and services Plymouth provides.
And Plymouth’s staff. They come here because they are driven to end homelessness. They stay here because they see it happening. They’re smart, they’re compassionate, and they bring all of themselves to work every single day. They live and breathe our mission.
The Plymouth board of trustees. I have worked with some of the most accomplished, intelligent, compassionate and generous leaders in our community. Year after year, they have guided Plymouth both strategically and boldly: believing deeply in our mission, vision and values; championing our supportive housing model; and empowering me and our staff.
The generous support of our donors, funders, volunteers and community champions has been incredible. There are so many other causes and so many other places to give. But they chose Plymouth and they stay loyal to us. They made the last 20 years of dramatic outcomes possible.
It feels funny writing a page for a campaign about… me. But you can tell from what I wrote here that this campaign is really a tribute to all of you. Your participation as a champion and a donor will support the work of Plymouth, and when you do that, you give me the highest honor I can imagine.
Thank you.
