Every book I read helps educate a child in India
Dear Friends,
I am participating in Pratham USA Readathon 2015 because I want to help less fortunate children attend Pratham schools and learn to read, write and count well. Pratham is a not-for-profit organization that is educating millions of kids in India since it was founded in 1995. It is very well known and has won many international awards for its work in child literacy and education. Pratham USA raises funds and awareness in the US for this important cause. Please visit www.prathamusa.org for more information.
Pratham needs only $25 to educate one child for one whole year. I love to read because when I read, I can learn a lot, meet new people, discover new places, find new ideas, improve my vocabulary, use my imagination and never get bored! I am so happy that with your donation, my reading will help many other children. I am going to read 15 books. Please support my Readathon by making a donation to Pratham USA today.
Love,
Nandana
Update #7 (sent September 12)
Since my last update, I have read:

9.See Inside Your Body: This book is about the different things that are inside your body. Some things I learned are that your skin is the biggest organ, nerve cells are long and spiky, and your nerves carry messages to and from your brain.
10.The Seven Wise Princesses: This book is about a guy named Shah Bahram who makes seven pavilions. These pavilions are based on the seven heavenly planets. Each day, Shah Bahram visits a princess. The princesses tell Shah many beautiful stories.
11. All About Dinosaurs: This book is, just like the title says, all about dinosaurs. Some things I learned was that the Composognathus was the size of a chicken, some flying reptiles had crests, and the Archaeopteryx was the first bird to live on Earth.
12. The Elements: This books is all bout the elements on the periodic table. Some things I learned are that Ruthenium Chloride is a vivid red, arsenic is not fully poisonous, and at negative 183 degrees Celsius oxygen is a pale blue liquid.
13. Usborne Science Encyclopedia: This book is about all the different branches of science. Some things that I learned are that a flying lizard can glide up to 50 feet between trees, a susilk can turn its head all around too look for predators, and glass thermometers contain mercury.
14. Forensic Science: This book is about the branch of science called Forensics. Some things I learned are that different types of soil look different, computers can clear up grainy images, and that people’s signatures look different every time they sign something.
