Providing healthcare to my friends in Quetzaltenango
Dear Friends and Family,
Timmy Global Health will be going to Quetzaltenango, the same place I was able to serve in March of 2013 on my mission trip. Our chapter has the wonderful opportunity to help Timmy in a student-led medical team to assist doctors and nurses in providing care to the community that I love.
Healthcare in Central America really hits home due to losing NatalieSarah, a three year old adorable girl who suffered from asthma. In the United States, asthma is easily taken care of, but in Central America it is life threatening due to the high cost of doctors and medicine. I met NatalieSarah on my very first mission trip sophomore year of highschool, and returned to her home a year later on my second mission trip to find out she passed away due to the medication being too expensive.
Timmy Global Health is an organization that is working to empower students to provide healthcare to places in the world that truly need it. To prepare for this trip, we have been gathering vitamins to bring to Guatemala that will be distributed to the locals for the next year.
My work with Timmy has already been such a rewarding experience, and everyone I have met in this organization is truly passionate about what they do. It has greatly helped me as I transition into my freshman year at college and has fueled my path of sharing healthcare with the places in the world who are in desperate need.
Please join me in helping Timmy Global Health provide medical support by donating to my fundraising campaign. Your generosity will help fight health disparities by providing public health education programs, access to primary care physicians, and prescription and over the counter medication along with transportation, financial support, and follow up care for patients who require referrals and advanced treatment.
About Timmy Global Health
Timmy Global Health works to expand access to healthcare to communities that are most in need by responsibly integrating students and volunteers into sustainable global health programs. Each year, we treat 14,000 patients in 5 countries by sending over 600 volunteers to support our clinics abroad. All while ensuring that 94% of our annual budget goes directly to programming.
