Every book I read helps educate a child in India
Dear Friends,
I am participating in Pratham USA Readathon 2015 because I want to help children in poverty to learn to read, write and count well. Pratham is a not-for-profit organization that has been educating millions of kids in India since it was founded in 1995.
Pratham needs only $25 to educate a child for a whole year! (www.prathamusa.org)
My homeroom students are involved in leading this charitable event at our school, and I want to show them my support. I am incredibly busy with work, and struggle to get the balance between work and school right – something I know many of you also struggle with. However, I am committing to reading 3 books by October 31st. This may not seem a lot, but bear in mind that I haven’t finished a book since the summer vacation! :-/
Please support my Readathon by making a donation to Pratham USA today.
Love,
Maxine
