Celebrating the Heart of Soulumination

I want to invite my family and friends to join me in the “Celebrating the Heart of Soulumination” fundraising campaign. Many of you know that I have had a close connection to this wonderful organization for the past 8 years and I can’t say enough about what a gift this local non-profit is to the broader Seattle community. Soulumination has also been a gift to me personally as Lynette Johnson, founder of Soulumination, is the person I reached out to for help when I was looking for a way to preserve and improve the few pictures we had of our infant twins who died shortly after birth due to prematurity. Lynette did all of this for me and more for no other reason than compassion and kindness. We have been friends ever since and I was honored to be asked to sit on the Board of Directors for Soulumination for four years.

Soulumination celebrates the lives of children and parents facing life-threatening conditions by providing beautiful, professional, life-affirming photographs to the families of critically ill children and adults with children under the age of 18. As someone who knows how deeply meaningful a photograph can be, I believe with all my heart this is a necessary and beautiful gift to be able to offer to parents and families facing incredibly difficult circumstances.

This campaign is being launched in celebration of the 60th birthday of Soulumination’s founder Lynette Johnson, who last year faced her own battle with Lymphoma. My participation as a board member, volunteer and honorary Soul Mom has allowed me to understand the impact that this organization has on these special individuals and families, which is why I want to help honor Lynette’s birthday wish to raise $60,000 for Solumination. Her simple request is for donations in any increment of 6, be it $6, $16, $60, or $600. Any gift of any amount is so appreciated.
