I want to invite you to join me in supporting our region’s deaf and hard-of-hearing children this school year.

At Northwest School for Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing Children (NWSDHH) students receive personalized instruction that prepares them to be self-confident, articulate, academically competitive learners and citizens. The outcome is impressive: while most deaf students graduate from high school reading at a third or fourth grade level, NWSDHH’s students graduate from high school with reading skills at or near grade level and nearly all go on to pursue a college degree.

Unfortunately, public funding doesn’t cover the true cost of educating a deaf or hard-of-hearing student. To keep this extraordinary educational resource within reach for all Washington families, NWSDHH needs our support.

Please join me in becoming a cheerleader for the 2014-2015 entering class at the Northwest School for Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing Children. Together we can ensure these students have the support and resources they need to succeed academically, personally and professionally.
