Celebrating the Heart of Soulumination

I want to invite my family and friends to join me in participating in the “Celebrating the Heart of Soulumination” fundraising campaign for an organization that I feel very strongly about, Soulumination.

As many of you know, my son was born with a birth defect, yet many thanks to our medical community, Seattle Children’s and University of Washington Medical Center, he survived and is thriving today. That brief moment of possibly losing a child, every parent’s worst nightmare, continues to haunt my husband and me. It is serendipity that my path should cross with Soulumination 20 years later. Working at Soulumination, I witness firsthand the overwhelming gratitude and appreciation from our families not only for the photographic gifts, but for the compassion and joy each volunteer photographer brings to a very difficult time in their lives. Between Sue, Mysti, the oodles of dedicated volunteers and Lynette’s bountiful energy and commitment to each family, every day is truly an awe-inspiring day!

Last year, Lynette was diagnosed with Lymphoma. She spent the year fighting the disease like a true champ and today has a clean bill of health. Lynette turns 60 in February and Soulumination’s board has decided to celebrate her renewed health and unwavering dedication to the families we serve by raising $60,000 for Soulumination in honor of her birthday. Each photo shoot costs Soulumination ~ $600.00; last year we served 200 families and that number grows every year as word of our work spreads. Our goal is to receive $60.00 from 1000 people and continue to serve these angel babies.
