What is a parklet?
A parklet is a small segment of the right-of-way that has been converted from private automobile use to a pubic space for all to enjoy.
Why should I support the Uptown Parklet?
The Uptown Parklet is a community-initiated project. The Uptown Alliance has partnered with SIFF Cinema and the Seattle Parks Foundation to design, fund and build this great little park space. The Uptown Parklet has been designed the reflect the unique arts and culture identity of the Uptown neighborhood and will provide a welcoming space for both residents and visitors.
Where does my money go?
The Uptown Parklet will provide a unique community gathering space within the Uptown neighborhood. It will be built to last, using quality materials, including weather-resistant hardwood decking and the same tables and chairs used in Counterbalance Park. Your gift will help to purchase the materials, furnishings and permits needed for the parklet. Your contribution to the Uptown Parklet is tax-deductible.
What will I be able to do at the Uptown Parklet?
The Uptown Parklet will be a tiny park space in which you can sit to rest and enjoy a view of the Space Needle, pick up a book at the little free library, people-watch along Queen Anne Avenue, enjoy a cheeseburger or a cup of coffee, park your bike, or socialize with your neighbors. The parklet will serve as a community gathering space in the form of a small urban oasis, welcoming all to the heart of Uptown.
What features will the Uptown Parklet include?
The Uptown Parklet will provide benches, tables and chairs, a little free library, planters, bicycle racks, and artwork. The parklet design features repurposed film reels donated by SIFF Cinema.

Help me bring a parklet to Uptown!

Help me build a unique community gathering space for our neighborhood. A parklet transforms a small portion of the right of way into a pocket of public park space. Ours will be located on Queen Anne Avenue outside the SIFF Cinema building and has been designed to showcase Uptown’s unique arts and culture identity.

Please donate today to help me gather the resources needed for the construction of this tiny gem. You may also provide further support by starting your own campaign page and inviting your friends to help support the Uptown Parklet project. Thank you for helping me and my neighbors to build the Uptown Parklet!
