Celebrating the Heart of Soulumination

I want to invite my family and friends to join me in participating in the “Celebrating the Heart of Soulumination” fundraising campaign for an organization that I feel very passionately about, Soulumination. Many of you are aware that this wonderful organization celebrates the lives of children and parents facing life-threatening conditions by providing beautiful, professional, life-affirming photographs to the families of critically ill children and adults with children under the age of 18.

Many of you are also aware that we faced our own difficult circumstance in 2005 when we lost Alex, our second son, at birth. We have too few pictures of Alex as we were not lucky enough to have a photographer from Soulumination in our hospital room to capture his sweet soul. Yet the few photos we do have are the very thing that carried me through the toughest times. They validated Alex’s journey, and brought me tremendous comfort during days of profound grief. It is because of Alex and those photos that I am a volunteer for Soulumination. It brings me great peace to help families in need by providing beautiful photographs and a loving legacy of their child that will carry them through the difficult moments they face in the days and months and years ahead.

I am compelled to support Soulumination in celebration of the 60th birthday of its founder Lynette Johnson, who last year faced her own battle with Lymphoma. My participation as a photographer and board member continually reaffirms the importance of these photographs and the healing power they bring to families facing such difficult circumstances.

Please join me in supporting Soulumination’s efforts and honoring Lynette as she celebrates this milestone birthday. Thank you for your donation and your participation to help us reach our fundraising goal so that we may continue to serve families in need.

As you can see above, my fundraising goal to support Soulumination is $6,000. If just 100 of you each gave 60 dollars…well, you do the math…!! My sincerest THANK YOU for any amount you are willing to donate to this most worthy organization.
