What is a virtual table?
Virtual tables give Boys & Girls Clubs supporters around the country the chance to support programming at the Clubs. Everyone that donates will “join” a virtual table and receive updates about the impact of their contribution in the coming months.
How do I join a table?
All you have to do is give! You can donate to the overall event or support a specific table captain’s table by donating on their page.
Why should I give?
We need your support to help give everyone access to Clubs like Smilow Rainier Vista. While membership is only $36, it actually costs $500 to provide a year of homework help, healthy snacks and mentorship.
How do I learn more about the Smilow Rainier Vista club?
Go to their website or Facebook page.

Please Pull Up A Chair At My Virtual Table!

As you may or may not know, I am a volunteer advisory board member and supporter of the Smilow Rainier Vista (SRV) Boys & Girls Club and Teen Center in Seattle. The kids we serve need your help.

I’m not good at asking for money, but for this cause I hope you will understand. I am trying to raise money from those who are not able to attend the $500 per person luncheon on April 10th. Every dollar makes an impact by ensuring that kids that come through the doors of the club have a positive and safe place away from home to get a healthy meal, academic and other support from adult volunteers and mentors, leadership development, gang and drug avoidance, music, dance, fitness, art, entrepreneurship and much more.

This particular club is in the most diverse zip code in the city. Smilow Rainier Vista serves the kids and teens in the economically depressed Rainier Valley. The Club and Teen Center are experiencing an influx of new members and the growing demand for the life-changing programming we provide kids. We want to ensure that we can serve all kids and that no child is ever turned away from the club because of a lack of resources.

While yearly membership is only $36, it cost roughly $1500 a year ($125 a month) to serve one club member. However we strive never to turn a child away.

So, ANY amount will make a difference. Please select “donate” to give online. I can assure you that 100 percent of what you give before April 11th will go to the club.

Your generosity matters! With support from the Clubs, we expect 97 percent of teen members to complete high school and 88 percent expect to go on to college. And 71 percent of Club teens will volunteer in their community at least once a year – much higher than the national average!

We’ve all been lucky in life: a good education, amazing careers, and a head start from a close knit family. Help me provide the same advantages to under-served youth in King County.

Thank you for your support!

About the Joel E. Smilow Clubhouse and Teen Center at Rainier Vista

Kids may walk through the SRV doors for the fun we offer, but we do far more than entertain these youngsters. Our nationally recognized programs and activities impact children in three essential ways:

  • Academic success—Improving grades, reducing high school drop-out rates, and teaching kids to see themselves as learners.
  • Good character and citizenship—Encouraging community service, reducing juvenile crime rates, and instilling an attitude of engagement.
  • Healthy lifestyles—Teaching healthy behaviors, reducing drug use and childhood obesity, and fostering a positive self-image.

It is the vision of the SRV team that any club member who wants to enhance or change their life direction or outcomes could be a part of our club and the great programming that goes on for ages 5-19.

Tell Don why you this cause!
