SeeYourImpact Interlake 5K

Hello, my name is Chloe Huelsemann and I am a member of the See Your Impact Interlake Club. We have approximately twenty members in our club and we are all driven to help educate children around the world and ensure they have access to education. We understand the value of education and we want to do everything we can to help kids everywhere have the same opportunities that we do.

We are raising money for children’s education in Latin America, specifically a school in Guatemala. On average, children in Guatemala only reach the 6th grade level, and the illiteracy rate in Guatemala is above 70%. Last spring/summer in June 2013 we held our first 5K run at Marymoor Park and raised close to $4,000. This year we are holding a similar 5K at Lewis Creek Park with a new greater goal of $7,500, and hopefully an even greater number of participants running in the actual 5K.

We are trying to change the detrimental situation in Guatemala one step at a time; my personal goal is to raise $100 through various donations and sponsors from family and friends, and our overall goal this year is to raise $7,500 – enough money to provide educational opportunities to more than fifty deserving but underprivileged kids in Guatemala!
