What is imagine1day?
imagine1day is a growing, global community of people making passionate contributions to ensure every child in Ethiopia receives a quality education. Our mission of developing leaders to elevate the world guides our every step. We are a movement powered by endless creative energy to help the next generation of leaders who will carry Africa into a new era of prosperity.
Where does my money go?
Donations will fund equipment, transportation, installation, and training necessary to build technical skills and knowledge to sustain the system and effectively integrate it into the community. Installation will take place in February 2014.

Because with your donation, you are helping to create a future that would not otherwise be possible. The gift of light is one way to ensure every child in Ethiopia receives a quality education.

Give the Gift of Light: Help me and imagine1day bring solar energy to Ethiopia

Dear Friends & Family,

I’m writing to ask for your support with a cause that I am personally passionate about: creating leaders. Effective leaders today need electricity to give them access to the world’s information, and you can help bring light to an off-grid community in Ethiopia.

In partnership with our non-profit organization, imagine1day (www.imagine1day.org), our goal is that in 30 days, we will raise $13 for each person in the Abada Community in Ethiopia (population ~2,000) to fund a solar energy system that will bring light and energy to their village school 365 days a year.

The Abada community is in the beautiful, sunny high plateau northern region of Ethiopia called Tigray.

Electricity is one of the biggest impediments to progress and education in Africa.

Today, in the Abada village, there is no electricity. This solar system will be life-changing.

My intention is to raise $5,000 to help give kids access to the Internet to aid their education, generate light for night time adult education, and provide street lights to create a safe community for women and children. Light can empower a life.
