Celebrating the Heart of Soulumination

Oh my goodness. Soulumination. Where do I start?

As a mom of a child with a complex congenital heart disease, I know time is precious. Every day counts.

Soulumination was recommended to us from one of our heart family friends.

Lynette came to take pictures of our family right before my son’s first open chest heart surgery. I was a wreck. My son’s prognosis isn’t good (less than 20% make their first birthday) and his diagnosis came as a total shock to us.

As a family we’ve actually never had professional photos taken before and honestly we’re not photogenic people. Lynette not only felt completely comfortable in a hospital setting she was so extremely compassionate and understanding towards the overwhelming situation my family was thrust into.

We did not feel awkward at all and she immediately felt like a friend. She’s such a loving soul.

The pictures we got back were unbelievable. They captured my kids perfectly. She played on the natural lighting and it was hard to believe the photo shoot took place in the hospital.

Not only did we get a disc of all of the pictures, we received prints, mini photo books for each family member including my mom, a large photo book, and a framed picture. My older children treasured the little photo books. They put them in their backpacks and took them to school. My oldest son has had lots of anxiety over his baby brother’s condition and watching his parents suddenly leave. He clung to that book while we were gone and it helped him so much. It is a treasured item.

The service that Soulumination provides is just beautiful.

Seven of my heart mom friends have also had their baby’s pictures taken by Soul and the pictures just capture so tenderly little insights of what life has become with these sweet children with half of a heart.
