Every book I read helps educate a child in India
Dear Friends,
I am participating in Pratham USA Readathon 2014 because I want to help less fortunate children attend Pratham schools and learn to read, write and count well. Pratham is a not-for-profit organization that is educating millions of kids in India since it was founded in 1994. It is very well known and has won many international awards for its work in child literacy and education. Pratham USA raises funds and awareness in the US for this important cause. Please visit www.prathamusa.org for more information.
Pratham needs only $25 to educate one child for one whole year. I love to read because when I read, I can learn a lot, meet new characters, discover new places, find new ideas, improve my vocabulary, use my imagination and never get bored! I do read a lot of science books and perform scientific experiments at home.
I am so happy that with your donation, my reading will help many other children. I am going to read 10 books. Please support my Readathon by making a donation to Pratham USA today.
Love,
Aditya Varma
So far i have read two books this summer. The titles of the book i read are Eragon and The Eleventh Plague. Here is a summary of both books i read.
Eragon
by: Christopher Paolini
When Eragon finds a polished blue stone in the forest, he thinks this new discovery could feed his poor family for the winter. Suddenly the blue stone hatches into a baby dragon. Eragon has stumbled into the dangerous realm of magic. Can Eragon take over the role of a dragon rider? The fate of the empire rests in his hands.
The Eleventh Plague
by: Jeff Hirsch
America is a desolate landscape after a brutal war. Most people are infected with a form of influenza called the eleventh plague. A young man named Stephen Quinn is among the only people to survive. He makes a living by searching materials to trade. He goes to a village called Settler’s Landing where he makes a friend called Jenny. They both play a prank that goes horribly wrong changing their lives forever.
I also read some articles in a book called “National Parks Of America”. It was so amazing to see some of the natural wonders when we went to Yellow Stone National Park in Wyoming.
I will keep you posted with updates and thank you for sponsoring me.
Sincerely
Aditya Varma
