Every book I read helps educate a child in India
Dear Friends,
I am participating in Pratham USA Readathon 2014 because I want to help kids who don’t have enough money to attend school. Pratham schools help teach them learn to read, write and count well. Pratham is a not-for-profit organization that is educating millions of kids in India. It is very well known and has won many international awards for its work in child literacy and education. Pratham will also teach a habit of reading and helping other people.
Pratham needs only $25 to educate one child for one whole year. For us that is like buying a pair of shoes or a bag of groceries. If that can educate someone for a whole school year, we should really do something about it.I was really into it when I found out about Pratham and how I can get into the habit of reading and help other kids. I would very well encourage you too and please donate as much as you can. Kids can get through with your help!
First book was the best-
Percy Jackson and the Olympians-The Sea of Monsters
Short synopsis:
Percy, Annabeth and Tyson had to go get the Golden Fleece to save the tree that used to be a girl named Thalia. She was the daughter of Zues, just like Percy was the son of Posieden. First he had to get through The Sea of Monsters! Later in the book Percy had to escape from Camp half-blood and get to a boat which was about to leave. Then figured out that it was owned to his arch-enemy, Luke. Who tried to be-friend Percy, but later tried to kill him. Then finally reached the island fought of deadly sheep(sounds weird I know) but they ate a full elephant and on the ground bones. And finally had to fight of a cyclopes and got the fleece back to Camp Half-blood. Later after they got back to Camp Half-blood the fleece worked too well and the tree was still there but laying on the ground was Thalia, the daughter of Zues!
My thoughts on the book-
As usual Percy and his friends have me hooked! I would recommend this book to anyone 8 years and up! Now I am on to my next book Percy Jackson and the Olympians- the Titans Curse. And hopefully finish the whole series of these great books!
And a great 4.5 out of 5 star rating!!!!!!!
